I knew Robin Hunter when she was a lively sprite of a cheerleader in high school, and hear about her (and her Father and Mother) from my father Marvin Warthan. I am so sorry about your family's sad loss. In reading your husband's posted condolences, it is easy to see what a vital person he was--to your family and the community.
I got a real picture of who he was, and I know what a difficult time your family if having, and how much you will all miss him. It sounds like he had a wonderful life cut way too short.
My sincere sympathies.

To: Robin and Jason, Mr. and Mrs. Pruett, Warren, Wayne, other family members and friends.

I can't help but smile when I think of Alan as then an excellent young student-athlete, yet a better person, who was a role-model to many, me included. Alan was sensitive, caring, and always putting forth his maximun effort to not only be successful, but to do things the "right way". He loved his family, friends, and the things that God gave him we call "talents". He used them well. And what else can be said for living one's life. Not much more I'm sure. Alan lived a remarkable life!

May God continue to be with you as you think of Alan each and everyday in love and peace.

Robin and Jason,
Alan was a very kind and gentle person. A true model of an educator and a person with peace. I have had the pleasure of working with him at Carver for the past few years, as well as having Jason in my classroom. The end of school was just not the same this year without him in the office and around the hallway. He was an inspiration to me and will be missed by the entire Carver family. God Bless.

Dear Robin, Jason, and family,
I had the privilege of working with Alan at Swift Creek Middle from his first of many years there. We all grew through many changes there, including Alan's beginning work as a principal. Alan was always a calm, pleasant and professional colleague to work with. He did a wonderful job with the the students and teams he coached! Robin, your family has been through so many trials even before this. Stay strong and rejoice in family, Jason's future, and every wonderful moment and happy memory you all shared!

I am truly going to miss Alan. I first met him when he came to Prince George as my AP. When he left to become AP at Carver he contacted me and encouraged me to apply. I owe much of my success as a teacher to Alan. Although we all wish Alan were still with us, try to find comfort in knowing that God has healed him from his pain. Dear Robin Pruett and Family:
Please accept my sincerest condolences. Over the last few months those who have worked with and loved Alan have all shared in his fight back to health. He was a kind, soft-spoken man who often talked of his son's baseball experiences (of which he was very proud), of his family, and the good times they shared at the lake together. I am saddened, as we all are, by his premature passing.
Alan will always be remembered by me as one of the first persons to welcomed me to VA when I moved here from NY to resume my teaching career at Swift Creek M.S. in 1995. In those days, we often ate lunch together and shared our "war stories" about students, school politics and our future careers in education. He often said he wanted to eventually become a school principal, and was working towards that career goal. Several years later, he and I continued our professional collaboration at Carver Middle School; he as an assistant principal, and I as a special educator.
Alan loved to help children and staff members alike. He was there when you needed him and was always thoughtful, respectful, and considerate to all. One of the hardest working and dedicated persons I have ever know, Alan was born to be an educator and a principal. In the hearts and minds of all those whose lives he touched, he will never be forgotten. I'm sure that God has a place beside him as principal in one of his finest schools.
May God bless you and keep you Alan Pruett, and watch over your family with love.
