Ella Emory Blank, 82, of Colonial Heights died Wednesday, June 28, 2006. She was a native of Petersburg and the son of the late Frank Herbert and Jessie Cooley Emory. She was the widow of Louis Blank, Jr. She is survived by her two sons, Louis Blank, III; Kirby Smith; daughter, Carol Ann King; sister, Lydia Van Fossen; brother, Rudolph Emory; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wake service will be conducted 6:00 pm Friday, June 30, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 1, 2006 at the church. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. My Mother lived with dignity and grace throughout her life. When my brother Michael was killed I looked to her for guidance. She was always there for me and will always be - until we meet again. She took my brother Warren's death hard but managed to find the courage to go on. She loved her children unconditionally and although she suffered through her life and great physical pain prior to her death she remained lovely and beautiful. I've learned much from my Mother, I've watched her cry over all my brothers and me-she remained strong in adversity. I love you Mom, Carol Ann.
