Winne, Jean

Jean Faris Winne, 68, of Hopewell died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 in John Randolph Medical Center. Mrs. Winne was a lifetime resident of Hopewell. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 1958 and was a retired registered nurse at Hopewell Convalescent Center. Mrs. Winne was a member of the Nurses Association, and the Hopewell Jaycettes. She grew up in St. James Catholic Church and later became a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Winne was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Lee Faris, Jr. and a sister, Patsy Tinsley. She is survived by her mother, Frances Faris of Hopewell, a son Robert M. Winne, Jr. and his wife Pam of Chester, VA, two daughters, Patti Varner of Santa Claus, IN, Betsy Resnick and her husband Lee of Hopewell, four grandchildren, Amanda Varner Peters, Elizabeth Faris Varner, Zachary James Winne and Brooke Mikaela Winne, two nieces, Susan Towns and her husband Bill, Mary Frances Tinsley, all of Richmond, VA, two nephews, Michael Elrod and his wife Beverly of Glen Allen, VA and Clifton Elrod of Chester, VA, two great nieces, Reilly Towns and Avery Towns, both of Richmond, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 14, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 15, 2006, 1:00 PM, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jeff Raymond, Pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Appomattox Cemetery. Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com
