Beierschmitt, Mary C.

Saturday, June 10, 2006

Mary Caroline Beierschmitt passed away from heart complications on June 10, 2006. Caroline was a programmer for Chesterfield County for 25 years. She shared 40 years of her life with her high-school sweetheart, the late Dennis Beierschmitt. Together, they shared a passion for nature and cycling. Caroline was an accomplished artist, skilled in a variety of mediums from watercolors to folk art and sculpture. She became a peace activist in the 60's and continued her involvement in political, environmental, and peace groups at the Unitarian Church. Even in challenging times, Caroline remained an inspiration, providing encouragement and counseling to those who were close to her. She is greatly missed by her son and daughter, Ridley and Stefanie Beierschmitt, her mother, Virginia Armstrong, her two brothers and sister, and a community of family and friends. In celebration of her life, a memorial will be held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 1000 Blanton Avenue in Richmond, on Tuesday, June 13 at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be sent to the World Bicycle Relief Organization or the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Richmond. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

Condolences

I feel very fortunate to have known Caroline through church. She loved her family so very much and wanted for her children just what they wanted for themselves, even though it meant that they might be physically far away. She was a courageous person and giving of herself.

Having worked with Caroline for 21 years at Chesterfield, I always considered her a friend. She was always easy to work with and when asked, she would always lend a helping hand. Chesterfield County IST and the Public Safety area has lost a very valuable and knowledgeable person. Caroline will surely be missed by all that she worked with.

Dear family, I worked with Caroline at Chesterfield County. She was a very talented and wonderful person. Please accept my sympathy and prayers as you grieve for this beautiful person. I pray I will see her in heaven one day.

But God will redeem my soul from the grave; He will surely take me to Himself. Psalms 49:15

Caroline was a loyal and trusting friend to me, better than anyone truly deserves, giving of herself freely and selflessly. I will cherish her gifts of wisdom and compassion and true understanding throughout the rest of my life.
