Curtis Earl Hawks, 79, of Chesterfield County, passed away Friday, June 9, 2006. He was born February 18, 1927 in Carroll County, VA, the son of the late Harvey and Myrtle Rippey Hawks. Mr. Hawks served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the International Boilermaker’s Union. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Longmire and husband, Richard of Richmond; his son, Charles Hawks and his wife, Debbie of Chesterfield; grandchildren, Hillary Scott of Kingsport, TN and Melissa Hawks of Chesterfield; brothers, Oda Hawks of Pensacola, FL and Frank Hawks of Chesapeake, VA. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday, June 11, at the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, P. O. So sorry to learn of the passing of Earl Hawks. I often heard my mother speak positively of her brother Earl when I was a youth and still living at home. May God give you peace in your time of sorrow. I am the son of Grace (Hawks) Sink. Earl was my uncle.
