Billy Watts Johnson, 69, of Hopewell died Monday, May 29, 2006 in Riverview on the Appomattox. He was born in Grayson, KY and had been a resident of Hopewell since 1975. Mr. Johnson was a retired E-8 from the U.S. Army and also retired from Bogese, Inc as a supervisor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Allie Suttles Johnson, a daughter, Karen Sue Johnson, sisters, Louise and Mable and a brother Earl. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Josefine Poltzner Johnson of Hopewell, a son, Billy Ray Johnson and his wife Sally, two grandchildren, Jeffrey Ray Johnson and Kelly Nicole Johnson, all of Enon, three sisters, Kathy Dereski and her husband Frank of Bracey, VA, Mary Blevins and her husband E.W. of Grayson, KY, Maxine March and her husband Wayne of Kitty Hawk, NC, five brothers, James Johnson and his wife Helen, Paul Johnson, Harold Johnson and his wife Delores, all of Grayson, KY, Ralph Johnson and his wife Carol of San Francisco, CA, and Virgil Johnson, Jr. of New Mexico. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 31, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 1:30 PM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Frank Wiggins, Pastor of St. James Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chesterfield County. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060.
