Mr. Ned Meyer Coleman, 85,of Hopewell, departed this life, Sunday. May 21, 2006 at Riverview on the Appomattox. Mr. Coleman was a retired welder with Hercules, Inc., a member of First Baptist Church, Dupont Lodge #289 AF & AM, and VFW Post 637 and served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. and Lillian Sandridge Coleman, his sisters, Lorraine Lacks, Frances Connelly and Edna Lovett, brothers, Taft, John and Harris Coleman and his wife, Rubie T. Coleman. Surviving are his son, William M. Coleman and wife, Alice, daughter-in-law, Hazel B. Kirksey, niece Lillian Heretick, all of Hopewell, two nephews Bobby Coleman of Richmond, and James Coleman of Hopewell, three step- grandchildren, Keith Kirksey and wife, Michelle, Thomas Kirksey and wife, Michelle, and Kelly Kirksey, and five great grandchildren.

A Masonic Memorial Service, conducted by the members of Dupont Lodge #289 AF & AM, will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2006, in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Visitation will follow until 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at 2 p.m .at First Baptist Church, Hopewell, with The Rev. Dr. Joseph Ivey of First Baptist Church, Officiating. Interment will be in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chesterfield County.
