Harrison, Gilbert E.

Gilbert Eugene Harrison, age 62, of Chester, VA died on Thursday, May 18, 2006. He was son of the late William O. and Lillian Barrett Harrison. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church for about ten years, member of Richmond Cursillo, member of Warrant Officers Association and a advocate of the ALS Association He is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann Harrison of Chester; two daughters, Michelle A. Coonley and Julie J. Harrison both of Chesterfield; sister, Evelyn L. Harden of Grants Pass, OR; two brothers, Ronald W. Harrison of Livermore, CA and George A. Harrison of Sumner, WA; three grandchildren, Alyson Eland, Ashley Eland and Michael Coonley, numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Chesterfield. A funeral mass will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment will be on Thursday, May 25, at Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, VA. The family request that memorial contributions be made to St. Augustine Building Fund or the ALS Association Richmond Chapter in lieu of flowers. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

Dear Sharon,
We haven't been in touch for years and years, but I still think of you and remember our beauty school days. I remember how much you loved Gilbert and know you must have had a really good life together. I hope you are doing all right and would love to hear from you.

Dear Sharon and family,
My sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one. Sharon, I am so sorry for your lose and my heart goes out to you and the rest of your family. May God hold and keep you during this very difficult time I did not know Gilbert personally, I only meet him on a few occasions. However, I work with Sharon and I know how much of a great guy he must have been to have touched Sharon the way he did. He is in my thoughts and prayers, as is his family and friends. I am terribly sorry for your loss, but I know you will be with him again one day. Have faith, God always Listens

Sharon, I know I speak for many members of the Crater Chapter of the United States Warrant Officers Association in passing our sincere condolences to you and your family. Gil not only was a Great American, but faithfully served his nation with distinction as a Soldier. We're all saddened at his passing, but happy that he's peacefully resting with our Lord.
