Georgie Mae Shaw Merryman, 87, of Hopewell, widow of Lawrence Harvey Merryman, died Friday, April 21, 2006. She was the daughter of the late John Albert & Georgie Starke Shaw. She was born January 25, 1919 in Pleasant Hill, NC. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Annie Shaw, Agnes Shaw Cook and Katherine Mason Shaw. She was a graduate of Seaboard High School, Seaboard, NC Class of 1936. She was a member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a son, Lawrence Merryman, Jr. & his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Barbara G. Merryman of the home and Judith M. Mullen and husband, John; four grandchildren, Laura L. Reedy (Jason), Joan A. Stalnaker (Jesse), Miranda Mullen and Krister Mullen; two great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Stalnaker and Jared Michael Reedy. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Woodlawn Presbyterian Church.
