Hardin, Jimmy H.
Thursday, March 23, 2006
Jimmy Holmes Hardin slipped into heaven Thursday night after a long illness. He was the finest man ever known, a great friend to many, knowledgeable in many things, especially fishing. Jimmy practiced his expertise in fishing by giving directions to good fishing holes, but not always his. He was a devoted family man, he adored his children and grandchildren. He showed them the path to a good and rewarding life. They equally adored and respected him by being the kind of people he was so very proud of. We are sure he was met by his fishing buddies and is happily talking baseball. He was a member of American Legion Post #146 and Prince George Masonic Lodge # 115. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Peggy Narron Hardin, his four children Sheree Hardin, Mark Hardin, Tamee Hardin Collins and Kristee Hardin Lively, grandchildren, Alexander Beganie, Matthew Beganie, Louis Smithson, Stevie Hardin, Megan Hardin, Maura and Carlee Mabon, one sister, Hannah Moxley, one brother, Robert Hardin, many nieces and nephews and a devoted friend, James R. Jones. A funeral service, followed by a Masonic memorial service will be held Sunday, March 26, 2006 at 2:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service, with the Rev. Neil R. Cline, pastor of Faith Lutheran Parish officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 4:00 PM. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060. Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com

Dear kristee and family,
My heart goes out to you and your family. I know the pain you are feeling. When my dad passed just 3 months ago, someone posted this poem on his condolence page, so I thought I would send it to you. I hope you find some peace in it, I know I did.
I love ya kristee,
Teresa
When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you,
and each time that you think of me I know you'll miss me too.
When tomorrow starts without me please try to understand,
that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand.
It said my place was ready in heaven far above,
and that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye,
for all my life, I'd always thought I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for, so much yet to do,
it seems almost impossible that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday just even for awhile,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized that this could never be,
for emptiness and memories would take the place of me.
When I thought of worldly things I might miss tomorrow I thought of you,
and when did, my heart was filled with sorrow.
When I walked thought heaven's gates I felt so much at home
when God looked down and smiled at me from his golden throne.
He said, "This is eternity, and all I've promised you,
for life on earth is past but here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow but today will always last,
and since each day's the same day, there's no longing for the past.
So when tomorrow starts without me don't think
we're far apart, for everytime you think of me I'm right here in your heart
The members of DuPont Lodge #289, A. F. & A. M. want to convey to the family of Jimmy Hardin our sympathy and our sorrow at the passing of our beloved brother, Jimmy Holmes Hardin. Jimmy was not only a member of DuPont Lodge but he was also one of our officers. He was our Marshal. He also was very active in teaching Masonic ritual to our candidates and excelled in the work of conferring degrees. He was a valued Masonic brother and a cherished friend. We shall miss him. But, we know that the Supreme Architect of the Universe, in His mercy, has given Jimmy release from the weakness and pain that he fought so valiantly and for so long.
I know that Jimmy was so glad that he was able to be a part of his grandson, Matthew, becoming a Master Mason. I believe that was the last time that Jimmy was able to attend Lodge. He had a very important part in the degree that night and he performed his part of the work in his usual very competent and flawless manner.
If DuPont Lodge can be of any service to the family, either now or in the days and weeks out ahead, please call on us.
J. Bruce Catron, Worshipful Master
DuPont Lodge #289, A. F. & A. M.
Just a note to express our sympathy for your loss. Jimmy was an asset to the community. We enjoyed you all as neighbors and Rick especially will miss him as a Masonic Brother and friend.
Dear Kristee & Family,
My sincerest sympathy on your loss. May God comfort you during the days and hours ahead. Only time can heal a broken heart, but God can make things easier.
Although I didn't really know your parents, I am sure your Dad was one of the best. I do know that they did a super job of raising you, since I remember you as a wonderful, bubbly, well mannered young lady.
Just in case you don't recognize our names, Dawn Crowder, now Reese, is my younger sister. Several of her friends, you being one of them, really made an impression on me & I think of those people often.
With Love in the Lord Jesus Christ,
Tamara & Family
How saddened I am to hear of the passing of Jimmy.
Growing up wouldn't have been the same had I not gotten the privaledge of knowing him. Friends come and go through the years, but the friends and neighbors who remain close to your heart, no matter the passing of time or distance, are the ones most cherished.
You are all in my prayers. May the burden of sorrow be lifted by the knowledge that you have friends, family, and neighbors who will always cherish the memory of Jimmy.
Peace be with all of you.
Cathy Johnston Jones
Jimmy was one of my best friends. I have known Jimmy since he came to Hopewell. We were about the same age. Jimmy touched the lives of many many people. We will really miss him very much. With Jimmy gone, there will be many big fish out there not being caught.
