Taylor, Helen E.

Helen E. Taylor, 83, of Hopewell, passed away on April 16, 2006 at the Hopewell Health Care Center. She was born in Brooklyn, NY. and made Hopewell her home for the last 48 years. Mrs. Taylor served in the U.S.Marine Corps during WW II. She and her husband owned and operated Taylors Bait Shop in Hopewell for many years. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Elvira Larson Barkman, her husband, Melvin V. Taylor, Sr. and a brother, Arthur T. Barkman. Surviving are her son, Melvin V. Taylor, Jr. (Moose) of Hopewell, a daughter, Helene A. Polascik and her husband Steve, of Hopewell, a sister, Margaret Borsella and husband Nick of Roanoke, Va., three grandsons, William Taylor of Virginia Beach, Christopher and Travis Schlager both of Hopewell and one great grandson, Christopher Schlager, Jr. of Chester. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 19, 2006 from 2-4PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Monday March 20, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bruce Bevans, Rector of st. John’s Episcopal Church officiating .
