June Carroll Harris, 78, of Hopewell died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 in Riverview on the Appomattox. She was born in Kingsport, TN and had been a resident of this area for 60 years.Mrs. Harris was a member of the Red Hat Society of Petersburg, an honorary member of Calvary’s Love Ministries and a retired operator for Allied SignalCorporation. She was the daughter of the late Charles & Leigh Smith Carroll. Mrs. Harris is survived by two daughters, Joni Woodard Kelley of Ruther Glen, VA, Tammy H. Temple of Disputanta, VA, four sons, John Richard Woodard, Jr. of Prince George, Joseph Carroll Woodard of Oklahoma City, OK, Charles Walter Woodard of Richmond, and Charles Edward Woodard of Mechanicsville, VA, 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, two sisters, Hazel Carroll of Bradenton, FL and Dot Holden of Gloucester, VA. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 9, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:30PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 10, 2006 at 11:00 AM in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, with Rocky Shearin of Calvary’s Love Ministries officiating. I will miss my girl! Aunt Juni was a good hearted and determined woman that has inspired my life as well as so many others! I was blessed all my life by knowing her and will carry her in my heart until the day I meet up with my dearest aunt again! I myself had many wonderful conversations with her and she has always believed in me even when others didn't. She was the most selfless person I have ever known. She was truely wonderful in every aspect and I will miss the conversations and advice that I got from her. Although I do definately have one thing to remind me of her every day, her granddaughter Brittany Nicole Woodard and I see June Harris in her.
