Alley, Opal B.

Opal Blevins Alley, of Hopewell, died Wednesday, February 22, 2006 in John Randolph Medical Center. She was born in Anawalt, West Virginia and was a resident of this area for many years. Mrs. Alley was a member of Powers Memorial Baptist Church and a retired clerk from Appomattox Dry Cleaners. She was the daughter of the late Minter F. & Bessie B. Harris Blevins and the widow of James Edward Alley. She was the last survivor of nine siblings, who preceded her in death. They were, sisters, Ruth Ellen Blevins, Rebbecca Blevins, Bertha McVey, Maggie Blevins, Charlotte Blevins, brothers, Will Blevins, Ora Blevins and Les Blevins. Mrs. Alley is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and all of her wonderful friends in Hopewell. The family will receive friends Friday, February 24, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. James Rogers, pastor of Powers Memorial Baptist Church officiating. My thoughts and prayers are with Opal's family and church family. It was such a pleasure to see her and talk with her when I was at Powers Memorial last Thanksgiving with my niece Angel Moore. God bless you all. Much love, Kenn
