John “Jack” Walter Jones, Jr., 77, of Disputanta, died Thursday, February 9, 2006 at his son’s home in North Carolina. Born in Southampton County he was the son of the late John Jones and Susie Bell Luter Jones and the husband of the late Hilda Jones. He was a resident of Disputanta, Virginia for the last 40 years and retired from Continental Can Forestry Division and Prince George County. He is survived by his sons; Johnny Jones and his wife, Lori of Littleton, NC, Mike Jones and his wife, Kim of Disputanta, VA, Ronnie Jones and his wife, Jo of Littleton, NC, Jacob “J.W.” Jones of Disputanta, his daughter; Monica King of Disputanta, VA, his grandchildren; Michael Jones of Mechanicsville, VA, Logan Jones of Disputanta, VA., Corey Jones of Disputanta, VA, Nikki Jones Dungan of Dunnelon, FL, Dalton King of Disputanta, VA, Chasity King of Disputanta, VA, Arianna Jones of Houlten, ME, Jordan Thomas of Disputanta, VA and Luke Lucas of Roanoke Rapids, NC, a great-grandchild; Kaleb Jones of Mechanicsville, VA and two sisters; Alma Parham of Virginia Beach, VA and Jannie Byrum of Suffolk, VA. A graveside service will be held at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Rd, Petersburg, VA on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 11 am. The family will receive friends at the home of Mike Jones in Disputanta, VA immediately following the service. The Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss &Son Funeral Home and Cremation service will be handling the funeral arrangements. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

We are all sorry for the loss of your father. Mom and Papa also send their deepest sympathy. I don't recall ever meeting your father, but if he had the same qualities as you, your family will certainly have a lot of cherishable memories.
