Joyce Anne Stanley Burnett, 76, of Hopewell, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006 in John Randolph Medical Center. She was born in Petersburg and had been a resident of the Hopewell-Petersburg area most of her life. Mrs. Burnett was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and a member of the Women of The Moose. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel C. And Mable Sadler Stanley. Surviving are her husband, Henry Talmage Burnett of Hopewell, two sons, Ricky T. Burnett & wife Patti of Knoxville, TN. Ray S. Burnett of Dinwiddie, two daughters, Robin G. Pruett of Hopewell, Rhonda E. Barker & husband Denny of Enon, six grandchildren, Chase Burnett of Knoxville, TN. Blair Wright of Ft. Polk, LA., Michael Pruett of Greensboro, NC. Lauren Pruett and Amanda Pruett of Hopewell, Kelsey Barker of Doswell, sister, Ellen S. Hipps & husband Larry of Hopewell, three brothers, Raymond L. Stanley & wife Mary of Hopewell, Robert A. Stanley of Venice, FL., Henry M. Stanley of Virginia Beach, aunt, Helen Dawson of Petersburg, special friend, Gail Brown of Disputanta, special nephews, Danny Hipps of Hopewell, Chris Hipps of Sutherland. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 1, 2006 from 6-8 PM at the Woodlawn Baptist Church, Hopewell. A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 2, 2006 at 1:30 PM in the church with Rev. Ken Hendricks, officiating. Interment will be in the south lawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Va.
