Hardie, John Jr.

John Willie Hardie, Jr. age 64 of Chester departed this life on Friday, January 20, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Barbara L. Hardie; three children, Tony Hardie, Sean Hardie and Donalisa Rountree; his parents, John, Sr. and Margaret Hardie of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Antonette, Kristina, Toni, Tahara, J’Sean, Tramesha and Vondrick; one brother, Melvin Hardie and his wife, Yvonne, four uncles; three aunts; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and grateful former students. Mr. Hardie was a retired school teacher with Chesterfield County Schools and was the owner of Special Occasion Food & Beverage Catering which was listed with the Better Business Bureau. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Monday, January 23 at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3050 W. Hundred Road. Funeral Services will be conducted 12 Noon Tuesday, January 24 at The Church of Christ, 4th & Cawson St., Hopewell with Leureuna Gilbert officiating. Interment will take place later in South Carolina.
