Robert L. Morter Jr., of Chester, VA died on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006. Mr. Morter was born in Buena Vista, VA and was a retired textile engineer with Allied Chemical Company. He attended Powers Memorial Baptist Church in Hopewell, VA for over 35 years. He is survived by a wife, Dorothy M. Morter of Chester. A sister, Donna M. Guthrie of Martinsville, VA. A daughter, Jeanie W. Crawford of Chester. Two grandchildren, Doug Crawford & wife Angie and Lori Edwards & husband Mason, both of Chester. Two great grandchildren, Jordan & Macy Edwards of Chester. Four nephews, Grant Guthrie, Ben, David, & Danny Cook, and niece, Meribeth Cook. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Chesterfield on Thursday, January 5th from 6 to 8p.m. where funeral services will follow on Friday, January 6th, at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park. Dot, just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you. I know just how you feel, but everyday gets better because you know you will be together again oneday. Take care of yourself and trust in the Lord. Sincerly, Dot and Jeanie we are thinking of you during this hard time, Just know there will be no more suffering for Bob, and we just have to get where he is.
