Carol, Malu, Your mother was a very lovely person and "Grace" was a very apt name for her. She was indeed graceful in every way!
I will always remember her kindness and sensitivity toward everyone she knew.
The world is a poorer place without her.
Love,

Carol and family,
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved mother. I know how it feels bec. I just lost my mother-in-law last week (Dec.27). A time like this is very difficult for so many people. May it comfort you to know that there is support with you from friends and love ones.
With sincere sympathy to you and your family.
With love and prayer,
Zeny and family
To Dr. Ellen L. Guanlao - I am Virginia S. Lainez, a friend of Jenny Liquigan Almaria and Cecile L. Quismorio. I hope you still remember me. I am visiting here in Norfolk, Va( fr. Philippines) and today I just read a Jan.3rd old newspaper. I am so sorry to read about your Mother. I am writing this not only to extend to you and your family my deepest sympathy but to pay tribute to a GREAT WOMAN. She did not only teach philosophy as part of the curriculuum but as part of the real life. She went beyond her duties, not only as a caring teacher but as a friend and as a good citizen and Christian. In my mind as a teenager at UST Liberal Arts she was my idol not only because she was statuesque, radiant, intelligent, witty, beautiful with her matching purse, bags earrings and other accessories but becuse she was different in her own way. During that time when women were only seen and not heard - she made sure that she was unique-you can look and hear her with enthusiasm. I am sorry that in her ripe age she had that condition. I know that it must be hurting for her family (whom she loved so much and at times mentioned in the classroom)to see her in that situation. Now, we can console ourselves that she is back to her real self and at PEACE. She is now WHOLE - body, soul, mind and spirit. In behalf of the many students at UST and the people whose lives she touched so warmly, with understanding, patience and love, please accept our condolences. To you my dear professor, friend, and IDOL - THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS FOR A LIFE LIVED WELL! GODSPEED DR. GRACE N. LUMBA !
Dear Tita Carol,
Our family extends our prayers and sympathy to your family. May the Amighty be with you in this difficult time. I will always have etched in my memory my wonderful, sparkling and beautiful Lola Grace.
God Bless,
Tina B. Garcia
Maria,
"The Final Flight"
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I've found that peace at the end of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things too I will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life's been full, I savoured much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one' touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. It was my honor to have known her for the time I did.
