MILDRED LAINE PRICE, 84, a resident of Wakefield, died on Sunday, January 1, 2006. She was the widow of W. Lear Brittle and Gordon C. Price. Born in Southampton County on August 2, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Nina Freeman Laine.

Mrs. Price was a member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, D. Eugene Brittle of Wakefield; a step-daughter, Judy Kent and husband, C. Wayne of Dendron; a step-son, Steve G. Price and wife, Tina, of Elberon; and six grandchildren, G. Laine Brittle, Bryan L. Brittle, Donald Ray Edwards, Christopher Price, Melany Price, and Mary Katherine Price. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Connie J. Brittle.

A graveside service will be held in the Wakefield Cemetery on Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at 2:00 PM with the Rev. G. C. Branton officiating. Family will receive friends at 36068 Faison Road, Wakefield. Memorial donations may be made to the Wakefield United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 87, Wakefield, Virginia 23888. Gene and Family,
I knew Ms. Price when I worked at Waverly Healthcare Center, she was the sweetest person. Always had a smile when I would see her. I am sure she will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. May the Lord Bless each of you and be with you at this sorrowful time in your life.
