Westmoreland, Katherine

Mrs. Katherine Marie Westmoreland, 83, of Newport News, died Monday, November 21, 2005, in Riverside Convalescent, Newport News. She was born in Dinwiddie County and was a former resident of North 21st Avenue, Hopewell. She was a retired teacher and owner of “Jack and Jill Kindergarten”. Mrs. Westmoreland was preceded in death by her parents. James and Mabel McClanning Upchurch and husband Obery C. Westmoreland Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law Charlotte and Luther Savage of Yorktown, Virginia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack O. and Shelby Westmoreland of Madeira Beach, Fl. and Daniel L. and Patti Westmoreland of Kennesaw, GA; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with The Rev. Dr. James Maggard , Pastor of Broadway Baptist Church officiating.
