Gibbs, Gertrude S.

Gertrude Sutton Gibbs, 91, of Hopewell, widow of Troy Gibbs, passed away Monday, November 14, 2005 at John Randolph Medical Center. Born in Wayne County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Alsworth Sutton and Betsey Sutton. She was a retired employee of Allied Chemical and a member of First Baptist Church in Hopewell. Mrs. Gibbs is survived by her sons, David Gibbs and wife Tami and Andy Gibbs and wife, Jackie; grandchildren, Michelle Parr and husband, Kevin, Michael Gibbs and wife, Angela, Troy D. Gibbs, Jr. and wife, Kim, Cindy Bergamini and husband, Bill, Amy Gibbs, and Ashley Gibbs; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM Wednesday, November 16, at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Alex Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park.
