Oscar Lee Edwards, 64, of Sutherland died Thursday, November 03, 2005 at his home. He was born in Pitt Co., NC and was the son of the late Kinchen R. and Ruby Gay Edwards. He worked for Parker Oil Co. for many years and was very active in community affairs. He is survived by his wife, Joan M. Edwards; four children, Jeffrey H. Edwards and wife, Caren Edwards and Daniel L. Edwards all of Dinwiddie, Michelle Moon and husband, Frank R. Moon of Vinton, VA and Michael S. Mullins of Colonial Heights; two sisters, Jean Barnes and husband, David W. Barnes of Petersburg and Geraldine Emory and husband, William Emory of South Hill, VA; brother, Robert Edwards of McKenney; eight grandchildren, Collin L. Edwards of Dinwiddie, Derrick Mullins of Colonial Heights, Brice Moon, Taylor Moon, Dabney Moon and Abigail Moon all of Vinton, VA, Caitlyn Flaim and Scott Flaim both of Dinwiddie; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Caswell of England and Pamela M. Gongloff of Colonial Heights. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

Oscar helped us in many ways while building our home...our hearts are filled with sorrow for the passing of such a wonderful man who always was ready to lend a helping hand...Our thoughtsand prayers go out to the whole family

Dear Edwards Family,

Mrs. Edwards and Family,
You and your family are in our prayers. I was deeply sadden to hear of Oscar's passing and I hope God's grace provides you peace at the time of your loss. I knew Oscar through going to UVA games and the ACC Tournamant and I always enjoyed his company and found Oscar to be a true gentleman.
