Andrew J. (Doodlebug) Ellis, Jr. age 46 of Colonial Heights died Thursday, October 6, 2005. He was the son of the late Andrew J. Ellis, Sr. and Hazel Talley Ellis and is survived by his wife, Karen A. Ellis; his son, William B. Ellis; two sisters, Jacqueline Doyle and Deborah Jones; four brothers, Jimmy, Johnny, Michael and Craig Ellis; seven nieces and nephews and a very special great-niece. Mr. Ellis was employed by VDOT. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 10 with the Reverend Ken Hutson officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family for final expenses.

Sorry to hear of your lost. I've been keeping in touch with Debbie about Doodlebug and praying for him every night. Our condolences go out to each and every one of you

It was an honor to know Junior and I was so glad we he came to work for VDOT. He was an excellant worker with Wilkins and it continued when he came to work for us at the Beach Area. He is a great example for all of our workers. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you and your family.
