Iona Long Towsey

Iona Long Towsey, a former resident of West Broadway, Hopewell, Va. died September 29, 2005. She was born in Louisa County, Virginia. Mrs. Towsey was preceded in death by her parents, Hill Conway and Myrtle Irene Dixon Long, and her husband, Milton Earl Towsey. Surviving are her daughter, Gwen Towsey Soden and her husband Judge Denis F. Soden, of Richmond, a son, Milton Bartow Towsey of Atlanta, three granddaughters, Mary C. Towsey of Atlanta, Kristin Soden Tetterton of Richmond, Erin Soden Gilbert of Andrews, NC., two grandsons, Shaun Patrick Soden of Richmond, Jack B. Towsey of Blacksburg, Va., two great-grandsons, Mason H. Gilbert and Ezekiel C. Gilbert both of Andrews, NC., one great-granddaughter, Anna Caroline Tetterton, of Richmond. The family will receive friends Friday evening, September 30, 2005 from 6--8:00 pm in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. John Carpenter, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating.
