Jeannette Barfield Dawson �Nanny�, 74, of Chester, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 13, 2005. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ida B. Tanner and her brother, Curtis P. Barfield. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly D. Wilmoth and husband, William Wilmoth �Billy� and Deborah J. Dawson and husband, Bruce Napier; grandchildren, Ashley, Trey, Alyssa, and Kirsten Wilmoth, Angel, Teddy, and Courtney Bishop; great-grandchildren, Chase Bishop, Tyler and Amberlynn Boyles, and Stacey Page; brother, James O. Barfield and wife, Mary; nephew, Jamie Barfield; and niece, Dana Gregory. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday, September 17, at the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home. I will always remember Jeannette's kindness to me when I was in the shop. I enjoyed so much talking with her about the "old days" when we both lived in Brodnax - we remembered so many of the same people.
Even though I had not seen Jeannette for quite a while, since I was last in the shop, for some strange reason she popped into my mind several times in the past few days.
Her love for her children, grandchildren, and all her family was evident every time I talked with her.
