Martha Davis Eckman, 84, of Colonial Heights died Friday, July 29, 2005. She was retired from Petersburg Public Schools where she worked in the Cafeteria. Mrs. Eckman was preceded in death by her husbands Clarence W. Davis and Paul H. Eckman; two brothers Grover and Henry Hall; one sister Lizzie Sadler; three children Clarence W. Davis, Jr., John E. Davis, and Emma Pearl Lee. She is survived by her son Jasper W. Davis; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister Sallie Green Tolbert. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 2nd from 7 to 8:30 PM at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army Chapel, 1228 S. West St, Petersburg on Wednesday, August 3rd at 10 AM with interment to follow in Blandford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be to the Salvation Army. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

I will always remember Granny, for her warm heart
and her delicious biscuits she prepared every Sunday after Church . Granny always made me feel like I was family. My prayers are with Jasper and his family. I loved Granny and will always remember her.
