Poole, Sr., Roy D.

Roy Donald Poole, Sr., 74, of Dinwiddie County, took his walk with the Lord on the morning of July 16, 2005. A native of Sussex County, he was the son of the late Edward Donald Poole and Emma Virginia Magee. Mr. Poole was preceded in death by his loving wife, Annie Ruth Poole, and by his grandson, Robert E. “Bob” Hayes, Jr., and by his nephew James A. Poole, Jr. He is survived by three daughter, Ginger Rafferty (the late Joe Rafferty, Jr.), Linda Hayes, and Carolyn Hoylman (Dennis); all of Dinwiddie; two sons, Roy Donald Poole, Jr. (Angela) of Dewitt and Gary Poole (Stephanie) of Dinwiddie. His grandchildren, Joe Rafferty III, Chris Hayes, Chelsi Holderfield (Aaron), Megan Hoylman, Timmy Doyle, Roy Poole III, Sierra Poole, Ryan Poole, Jenna Poole; four great-grandchildren, Joe (Blake)Rafferty, IV, Brittany Rafferty, Emma Rafferty, and Hunter Hayes. He has one brother, James A. Poole, Sr.; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM, Monday, July 18th at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, at the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Carson, VA with Pastor Gary Akin of Dinwiddie Baptist Church officiating.
