Mrs. Helen Nora McCallister, 71, of Petersburg, Virginia, died Sunday, June 19, 2005. Mrs. McCallister, a native of Lunenburg, County , Virginia, was the daughter of the late Overman Shearin and Catherine Batte Shearin. She is survived by her husband, William C. McCallister, of Petersburg, two daughters, Rebecca H. Weaver and husband, Andy, of Hopewell, VA; Teresa H. Lawton and husband, Donald, of Chester, VA, a son, Michael W. Hamlet of Hopewell, VA, six grandchildren, Bryan P. Hamlet, Crystal N. Weaver, Erin E. Hamlet, Paul S. Weaver, Kathryn E. Lawton and Matthew R. Lawton, two brothers, Jessie M. Shearin of Dinwiddie and Robert J. Batte of Victoria. and one sister Rosa L. Glidwell of Victoria.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will held in the Hopewell Chapel on Thursday, June 23, 2005. at 2 p.m. with The Rev. Sean “Rocky” Shearin officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Chester.

There will be a brighter day, in that land they call heaven GOD shall wipe all tears away.Your valleys maybe dark at this time, but remember GOD will take you through them.
