Gormley, Mary J.

Mary J. Gormley, 84, of Chester, died Saturday May 14, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Robert & Pearl Roby James, the widow of Richard P. Gormley Sr., and was predeceased by a son Richard P. Gormley Jr. Mrs. Gormley was retired from Southside Regional Medical Center. She is survived by two daughters, Susan G. Gammon and husband Michael of Chester, Anne G. Hopkins and husband Barry, of Cato, New York, two sons David R. Gormley and wife Faye of Richmond, John R. Gormley of Carson, daughter-in-law Debbie C. Gormley of Prince George, sister Josephine J. Slate of Petersburg, brother Ira Vernon James of Colonial Heights, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday May 17, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral will he held in the chapel 11:00 AM Wednesday May 18, 2005. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
