I happened upon Skips obituary by accident thursday afternoon at work and could not believe my eyes, I am so sad about this terrible loss. I loved Skip dearly, he was at the hospital with Kenny and I when we brought Josh home, he used to show up on our doorstep quite often and if we weren't home he always left us a little momento on our doorstep to let us know he had been there. I could go on and on about the wonderful memories he has left in my heart, he always knew how to make me laugh, I will miss him terribly.
With love to both of you, you are in my prayers. Pat

When I think of my years at Hopewell High School, I fondly remember Skipper. His spirit and zest for life enriched those years for all of us. He and I shared the honor of being elected "Biggest Loafers" in our junior year...this was true of neither one of us...so no I sat the record straight!

My husband and I would like to send our condolences to Skipper's family. We have only recently met Skipper but have talked with him numerous times. I discover we were "kin" in a round about way. My husband's gr-gr-grandfather is buried in the cemetery on Skipper's property and we contacted him about helping to clean it up. He was most gracious and invited us into him home and we talked about Wm. Sacra who married Elizabeth Blunt my husband's gr-gr-aunt who lived at "Big Oak". He proudly showed us pictures of the home place and of the "Big Oak" and offered to get copies for us. He invited us to come visit whenever we came to cut the grass. We are truly sorry we will not have the chance to get to know this remarkable man better.
Sincerely, Temple and Jo Ann Blunt

Hello to Stephanie and James,

I am a friend of Kathy Martin's and just wanted to say what a difference your Dad meant to her life. I only had the pleasure of meeting him once but I heard so many great things about his love and concern that I feel like I know him.

Sorry for your loss but realize that you are not the only ones who will miss him.

Love and take care of each other,

Deborah Overbey

Though many years have passed the memories remain . . . By far the most unique individual to have walked this earth, memories of Skip shall never fade or dull with time. My thoughts are with you, Jimmy and Steph, and all family members and friends left behind to grieve his loss. Remember the good times 'cause there were many. Take care - Amy
