Barger, Thurman E.

Thurman E. Barger, 71, of Chester, went to meet the Lord Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at his home. He was born in Buena Vista, VA and was the son of the late Charles and Carrie Staton Barger. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lois Lee Barger. He was the owner of Teblee & Village Cleaners and was a drywall contractor for many years. He was a member of the Pentecostal Travelers Quartet. He is survived by five children and their spouses, Wanda and Bob Gullet of Chesterfield, Edward Barger of Richmond, Sheila and Ronnie Reese, Melinda Hayes and friend, Raymond Newcomb and Pam and J. P. Hobson all of Chester; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Pete Barger and two sisters, Margaret Phillips and Barbara Ann Barger all of Buena Vista. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12 noon at Chester Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Milner officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com. Following the graveside service, family and friends are invited to Chester Baptist Church for a time of reflection, refreshments and fellowship.

My deepest condolences on the loss of Thurman. He was a very special man. He had a unique way about him that always made you feel welcome and always put a smile on your face. God Bless.

I'm so sorry for the loss of you wonderful dad. May god be with you'll throught this trying time, but he will be in a better place now. God Bless
