McCoig, Dan M.

Dan Macey McCoig, Sr., 72, of Chester, Va. died, Thursday, March 31, 2005 at his residence. He was born in Jefferson County, TN. Mr. McCoig served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, a retired millwright for Honeywell Corp. and was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 231 Morristown,TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Melvin and Zena Coleman McCoig and his wife, Dortha Marie McCoig. Surviving are his sons, David Thomas McCoig of Chester, and Rev. Dan M. McCoig, Jr. of Winchester, Va. two grandchildren, Molly and Patrick McCoig both of Winchester, Va. three sisters, Gladys M. Sluss of Morristown, TN., Annie M. McRay of Dallas, TX., Dolcie M. Strange and a cousin Kay Parton both of Morristown, TN., A graveside service will be held Monday, April 4, 2005 at 11:00 AM in the Appomattox Cemetery, Hopewell.
