Brockwell, George H.

George Henry Brockwell, 90, formerly of Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005 in Hendersonville, TN. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Richard E. and Maggie Andrews Brockwell. He was a U. S. Army Air Force veteran and a retired employee of Dupont’s Old Hickory, TN plant with 35 years of service. Mr. Brockwell is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lila Brockwell of Hendersonville, TN; a sister, Helen Temple of Colonial Heights; a brother, Arthur Brockwell of North Kingstown, RI; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Brockwell’s remains rest at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, at Blandford Cemetery, with the Rev. Rodney Sprayberry officiating. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

Lila, I am so sorry to read of George's passing. I worked with George when he worked in the Design Group at Old Hickory, in fact, I shared an office with him for a while. I always found him to be a perfect gentleman, mild mannered, and a true friend.

I HEARD ABOUT MR BROCKWELL'S PASSING THIS WEEK AND WANTED TO SEND MY CONDOLENCES TO MRS BROCKWELL. IT WAS A PLEASURE AND HONOR TO TAKE CARE OF SUCH AN ELEGANT MAN. THE LOVE THAT YOU TWO SO OBVIOUSLY SHARED AND THE GRACE AND DIGNITY WITH WHICH YOU LIVED YOUR LIFE TOGETHER WAS AN INSPIRATION TO ME. GOD'S PEACE BE WITH YOU IN THIS NEXT PART OF YOUR LIFE JOURNEY.
