Mattie Mae Hathaway Edwards, 94, of Petersburg, Virginia died Tuesday March 15, 2005 at Colonial Heights Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late James Ernest & Annie Summerlin Hathaway, and was predeceased by two brothers, three sisters, & two sons-in-law. She was the widow of Chalmers Velmon Edwards. She was retired from Brown & Williams Tobacco Company. Mrs. Edwards is survived by four daughters; Ethel M. Hayes ( AW) of Sutherland, Irene Jarratt, of Sussex, Frances L. Evenson (Phil) of Hopewell, “Nell” McLaughlin of Dinwiddie, two sons, Howard M. Edwards (Barbara)., Scott Edwards (Clarice) all of Macon Ga., one sister Edna Wilson ( Roland) of Colonial Heights, four half sisters, Shirley Casey, Carolyn Upchurch, Helen Rusch, Patricia Jones, a stepmother, Thelma Watson, 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. The family will receive friends Friday March 18, 2005 from 7:00-8:30 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Inc Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday March 19, 2005 at 1 PM at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Crocker of West End Baptist Church Officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

TO THE MCLAUGHLIN FAMILY,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I can only imagine the pain and loss that ya'll are experiencing. Just remember the good times that you all have had with her and all the memories. She loved each of you and all the Grandkids and Great Grandkids. She is now up in heaven watching over every single one of you.
