Wilkes, Bessie, J.Monday, March 07, 2005
Bessie Jane Wilkes, 80, of Petersburg, died Monday, March 7, 2005 in Southside Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Wilkes was born in Meherrin, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Ben and Annie Skinner Waddell, a daughter, Carolyn Pulling, and her husband Bud Wilkes. Mrs. Wilkes is survived by three sons, William Nyquist, Robert Nyquist, Joseph Fletcher, 2 daughters, Mary Belch, Laura Richardson, 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Thomas Waddell, Rufus Waddell, and four sisters, Jo Fincham, Sally Vanover, Lillie Moore and Bertha King. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 9, 2005 from 7:00 to 8:30PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 10, 2005 at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. George Dembeck, pastor of Faith Baptist Church officiating.
