Maggard, Norma, C.

Norma Clarke Maggard, 66, of Dinwiddie died February 16, 2005 after a long
fought battle with cancer. Mrs. Maggard was a native of Halifax County, Virginia
and was the daughter of the late Earlie and Essie Clarke. She was preceded in
death by her sisters, Alease Fisher and Betsy Clarke. Mrs. Maggard was a registered nurse and worked for a number of years at Southside Virginia Training Center. She was an active member of Kenwood United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was an avid bowler with the AMF Homemakers League and loved bingo, working in her flower garden, birdwatching and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Troy Glenn Maggard; two daughters, Teresa
Maggard Wooten and Tonda Maggard Tan; their husbands, Jack Edwin Wooten and
William Leet Tan; 3 grandchildren, Margaret and Tonda Wooten and Haley Tan; 2
brothers, Jim Clarke of Texas and Louis Clarke of Halifax, Va. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Kenwood United Methodist Church with Pastor Reginald Rumberg officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to Kenwood United Methodist Church. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

I have very fond memories of your Mom and all the good times we had at Sutherland Manor Pool. She had a great sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

My heartfelt sympathy to a wonderful family in the loss of a very fine woman. I will keep all of you in my prayers and pray that you will feel God's peace and know Norma is in a wonderful place and we will see her again. God bless all of you.
