Lockey, Mitchell B.

Mitchell Baker Lockey, 76, of Hopewell, died Sunday, February 6, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Lockey was born in Lumberton, NC, but had spent most of his life in the Hopewell area. He was a member of WOW Beech Camp #264, having served as their president, a member of Powers Memorial Baptist Church and a retired electrician from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. Mr. Lockey was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alice Davis Lockey. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Lockey of Hopewell, one son Randall Keith Lockey and his wife Heather, one grandchild, Quentin Lockey all of Sugar Hill, GA, a sister Annie Carelock and her husband Harold and their son, Frank, of Hopewell. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 9, 2005, from 7 -8:30 p.m.in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at 11 a.m. in Powers Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. James Rogers, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Appomattox Cemetery.
