Haire, Gertie M.A.

Gertie Mae Adams Haire, 94, of Colonial Heights, widow of Clarence T. Haire, Sr., passed away Monday, February 07, 2005. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Meade and Betty Lufsey Adams and a retired employee of Seward Luggage Company. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Haire was preceded in death by a son, Clarence T. Haire, Jr. and a daughter, Marie E. Doss. She is survived by three daughters, Janett H. Davenport, Gloria H. Helmer both of Colonial Heights, and Mary H. Ramey of Sutherland; a son, Charles H. Haire of Dinwiddie; fifteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, at Blandford Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Randal Hahn, Pastor of Colonial Heights Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
