Davis, Beulah H.

Beulah Harvey Davis, 83 passed away at her home in Dinwiddie County on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 56 years, Sterling E. Davis, Jr., by her three sons, James S. (Germantown, MD), H. Allen and wife Mary Totin (Fairfield, VA), and Gregory E. and fiancé Beth Minton (Dinwiddie) and by her grandchildren Logan, Lauren, Adam and Dawn and Lauren and Emily Minton. She is also survived by a sister, Helen Bass of Skippers, VA., by a brother, John Harvey of Dallas, NC., as well as by numerous nieces and nephews, and by sister-in-law Elizabeth Davis Hartman. She was predeceased by three brothers, James and Robert and Milton Harvey, by a sister, Louise Webb, and by numerous half-brothers and half-sisters. Mrs. Davis grew up Greensville County, VA, the daughter of John Wyatt and Josephine Styles Harvey, and moved to Petersburg in the early 1940’s. She was a devoted wife, mother and caregiver and an avid sports fan and gardener. She completed careers as a grocery store owner-operator and as a health care provider. After she retired, she served for over 15 years as a volunteer at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was a former member of Second Baptist Church and a current member of West End Baptist Church in Dinwiddie. Visitation will be at J.T. Morriss Funeral Home in Petersburg 2:00-4:00 pm on Sunday. Funeral services will be held at West End Baptist Church on Monday at 11:00 am. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
