Rita Ann Burns, 79, of Petersburg died Saturday, January 17, 2004 in Southside Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Burns was born in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late Howard Esler and Anna Milano. Preceded in death by a son Jameson Burns she is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Joseph L. Burns, III, 4 devoted children, Jo Beth Hartz and husband Frank, Joseph L. Burns, IV and his wife Marcia, Janeen Massenburg and her husband Robert, Jaye Wright and her husband Lawrence, 8 grandchildren, Terri Lynn Burns, Joseph L. Burns, V, Joy Nicole Burns, Joshua Adam Wright, Jordan A. Wright, Jenny Marie Wright, Sara Hebrank, Amy Hebrank, a sister Maureen Paledna, 3 sisters-in-law, Eveline Craig, Dolores Uzarowski, Hope Marston and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family and those friends who wish to do so, will gather at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home for the procession to the cemetery, which will depart at 12:30 pm for the 1 PM graveside service on Monday, January 19th in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Sunday, from 7 to 9 PM.
