Glen Lea Swann 73, of Hopewell died Tuesday, May18, 2004 in John Randolph Medical Center. He was born in Hopewell and hade been a life long resident. Mr. Swann was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict, a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 147, and a retired heavy equipment mechanic and operator. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Gwendolyn Wilson and his wife, Hazel A. Swann. Mr. Swann is survived by one daughter, Michelle Swann-DeFord of Austin, TX, two sons, Glen Swann Jr., David Swann, both of Hopewell, one step-daughter Debbie Connelly of Las Vegas, NV, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 20, 2004 from 7-8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 21, 2004 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Daniel Bond, Rector of St. James Catholic Church Officiating. Interment will be in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George County.
