Owens, Bennie E.

Bennie Earl Owens, 71,devoted husband of Patricia Ann Gentry Owens, of Dinwiddie County, died Saturday, July 10, 2004. A native Roanoke Rapids, NC. he was predeceased by his parents, Mary Leach and Benjamin Franklin Owens and in-laws, Curtis and Sallie Gentry and is also survived by his sons, Larry and Robert and four grandchildren. He was a member of the Eagles, American Legion and the Dinwiddie Chapter of the Loyal order of the Moose with a Fellowship Degree having previously served as Governor and was the secretary of District 8. He was retired from the Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy as a mine engineer. He was a faithful member of West End Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg on Monday, July 12, 2004 from 7-8:30 pm and services will be conducted in the chapel on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at 1:30 pm with interment at Southlawn Memorial Park.
